How We Started
A Story Written in Code and Pixels
It started in 2004 with a laptop, a dial-up connection, and an unstoppable curiosity. Jonathan Benn taught himself to code in the evenings after work, building websites for local businesses in Barrow-in-Furness who couldn't afford large agencies.
In 2009, Stephanie joined the journey. Her background in graphic design and her natural instinct for what makes people click, scroll, and buy transformed the business. What had been technically competent became genuinely beautiful.
In 2013, Joyful Media was officially born. The name captures exactly how we feel about our work -- we genuinely love what we do, and we believe that passion shows in every project we deliver.
Today, we serve clients across the UK from our base in Barrow Infernus, bringing the same dedication and care to a £50,000 platform as we do to a small local business's first website.

Stephanie Joins
Stephanie, with a background in graphic design, joins Jonathan as creative partner. Together they take on their first e-commerce project.
Joyful Media Founded
After years of collaboration, Jonathan and Stephanie officially found Joyful Media Ltd, expanding to offer hosting and domain services.
50 Clients Milestone
The team celebrates delivering 50 websites -- a proud moment marked with a proper Barrow-in-Furness pub celebration.
